Assistant Controller - Davenport, IA Tri-City Electric Co. is currently seeking an Assistant Controller for an immediate opening in Davenport. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for maintaining the office services and related activities by organizing office operations and procedures. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for (but not limited to): Managing the front desk reception area personnel to ensure effective communications and first impression, Assigning job numbers and complete job set up paperwork, Distributing purchase orders and contracts, Issuing subcontracts and assigning purchase orders for subcontracted work, Providing and managing Viewpoint suppor, Proficiency in sales and use taxes in the construction industry, including in multiple states, Performing review of sales and use tax reports „h Responsible for month-end close, monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns, and reconciling the general ledger, Managing the tax exempt file and retainage release, Providing 1099s to vendors, Completing annual shred coordination, Managing positive pay „h Assisting with W-2 process „h Managing the accounts payable, billing, and service coordinator personnel, Other duties as assigned by the Controller, CFO, and COO. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, 5-10 years of accounting and office management experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must possess strong communication and decision-making skills, the ability to multi-task and lead, strong initiative, organization, and time management skills.
