Registration FAQ

  • Q: I forgot my username and / or password, how do I retrieve it?
  • A: Go to http://www.qctimes.com/register/ and click on the 'Forgot Password?' link next to the small orange sign in button. Enter the e-mail address that you registered with and your username and password will be sent to you.
  • Q. I want to subscribe / unsubscribe from your newsletters, how do I do this?
  • A: To subscribe or unsubscribe:
    • First, enter your username and password at http://www.qctimes.com/register/ or in the form that pops up by clicking on the login link below the main blue navigation bar at the top of our news pages.
    • Click the orange Sign In button
    • After you're signed in, an 'Edit your profile' link will appear under the main blue navigation bar on our news pages where the login link once was. Click on the 'Edit your profile' link.
    • When the 'Edit your Profile' page opens, on the right hand side check or uncheck any newsletters you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe to and click 'Update'.
  • Q. I registered, but it still won't let me sign in. What gives?
  • A. This could be due to several reasons, the most common of which are below:
    • If you've registered and this is your first time signing in after registering, be sure that you have activated your account by responding to the registration e-mail we send out when you register. Occasionally this e-mail gets caught in a Spam Filter, so check all of your inboxes.
    • Make sure that you are typing your username and password *exactly* how it was entered when you registered. If your registered username or password was jOhN dOe', you must enter 'jOhN dOe' to sign in. It will not let you sign in if you enter 'John Doe', jOHN dOE', or any other variant. You can retrieve your username and password exactly how it was entered by going to http://www.qctimes.com/register/ and clicking on the 'Forgot Password?' link. Supply the e-mail address you registered with and your username and password will be e-mailed to you.
    • If you're not sure if you're registered, go to http://www.qctimes.com/register and click on the 'Forgot Password?' link. Enter the e-mail address you believe you have registered with. If you have not yet registered, it will give you an error of 'No matching email!'. In this case, we suggest you register. =)
