Family: Married to Marsha, his high school sweetheart. They have two adult children, son Brant (daughter-in-law Kelly), and daughter Maggie (son-in-law Chris). He also is “Papa” to his son’s daughters, Keegan, 3, and Mia, 1. Allen is one of two sons of the late Samuel and Rolanda Allen.

Residence: Bettendorf

Education: Graduated from a small high school in Kokomo, Ind., and from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., in 1975 with a degree in industrial management. 

He also played college golf for Purdue.

History with Deere: Began his career as a process engineer in 1975. Over the years, he worked in Horicon, Wis.; Des Moines; Dubuque; Davenport and Moline, holding a number of managerial positions. He joined Deere’s executive team in 2001 as senior vice president of Global Human Resources and Industrial Relations. He also served as president of Deere’s Global Financial Services, John Deere Power Systems and Corporate Human Resources. He was president of Worldwide Construction and Forestry Division and John Deere Power Systems when he was named as the company’s president and CEO in June 2009. In February, he became chairman and CEO.
