Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Bettendorf held a tree planting Nov. 8 in memory of Terry Jay.
Jay, an arborist at Davey Tree Co., helped plant some of the original trees on the site before construction of the new school. He was very interested in helping replant new trees in the landscape of the new school but passed away before that could happen.
The planting was funded by donations made in Jay’s memory.
