A 60-year-old Erie, Ill., woman was released from the hospital Friday, just one day after she was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 80.

Davenport Police crash investigator Kris Mayer said the woman, Barbara Beeson, suffered a concussion in the crash and was kept overnight for observation.

According to Mayer’s crash report, Beeson was eastbound on I-80 in a Toyota Celica when she was struck by an eastbound Volvo semitrailer that was changing lanes.

Beeson’s vehicle spun out of control and went across the median and struck a westbound 1993 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Jake Stansbury, 19, of Bettendorf. Beeson’s Celica came to rest in the westbound lanes, while Stansbury’s Bonneville ended up in the ditch on the north side of the interstate.

Stansbury suffered only minor injuries and declined treatment, while Beeson was taken to Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street.

The crash occurred about a mile east of Brady Street at 7:35 p.m.

The driver of the semi, Mariusz Antolec, 25, of Chicago, was not injured. He was issued traffic citations for unsafe lane change and false log book.
