A National Weather Service wind advisory in effect until 4 p.m. today.

Strong southerly winds will increase throughout the morning with sustained wind speeds around 30 mph and gusts over 40 mph by mid-day. Strong and gusty winds are expected to continue into the early afternoon before easing late this afternoon.

A wind advisory means that potentially hazardous winds are expected which can make driving difficult especially for high-profile vehicles. Extra caution is advised for motorists, especially

on east-west oriented roads.
