OAKVILLE, Iowa —  Iowa 99 reopened Tuesday to the flooded city of Oakville, the Louisa County Emergency Management director announced.

Residents are being allowed to return to their homes to begin the cleanup. Louisa County Sheriff Curt Braby warns that many parts of the city are still underwater and residents should enter at their own risk.

Contractors and volunteers have been cleared to enter the city, but must receive credentials.

Contractors and other professionals must report to the Louisa County Tax Assessor’s Office located in the Louisa County Courthouse, 117 S. Main St., Wapello, between 8 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Monday-Friday. Contractors will have to show ID and business license.

Volunteers must report to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 14041 Locust St., Wapello.
