Davenport library plans blood donation

As part of the “READiscover Your Library” summer reading program, the Davenport Public Library had teamed up with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center for a day of blood donation.
The event will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Davenport Public Library-Fairmount Street, 3000 N. Fairmount St.
Anyone 17 years or older who is in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds can donate. Youth 16 years old can donate with parental permission.
To register for a time slot, go online to davenportlibrary.com or call (563) 328-6833. When registering online, enter the time you would like to give blood in the space marked “alternative phone number.” The time intervals are in five-minute increments, such as 11 a.m., 11:05 a.m., etc. Participants will receive a telephone call to confirm their time.
