A new high-definition camera is now online and streaming live video from the eagle nest at Alcoa Davenport Works in Riverdale.

Alcoa spokesman John Riches said employees have spotted the two adult eagles, named Liberty and Justice, returning to the nest several times since the camera went back online Thursday.

He said employees are still fine-tuning the upgraded camera and are working on getting audio from the nest.

The eagle-cam has drawn more than 1.5 million hits since Alcoa launched it publicly in January. Last spring, viewers from around the globe watched two eggs hatch and the one surviving eaglet, named Freedom, grow and leave the nest. The live video stream began in mid-March.
