WQAD-TV will take over the production of KLJB-TV’s “Fox 18 Nine O’Clock News” on Sept. 6, officials from both stations announced Friday.

The local Fox station’s news had been produced by Davenport-based Independent News Network since it began its newscasts on Dec. 31, 1999. The new newscast will be produced at WQAD’s Moline studios with anchor Kim Johnson, a male anchor to be named later, chief meterologist James Zahara and sports anchor Amy Calderone. The newscast will expand to seven nights a week with the addition of a Saturday program.

The newscast will continue with the same name.
