Big Mouthz BBQ is moving to Brady Street.

The eatery opened last fall in the Mound Street Landing bar in the Village of East Davenport. But after closing a few weeks ago, it now will be reopening at 1218 Brady St., Davenport, owners said today.

Most recently, the small building was operated as Hot Cups, which sold coffee. But after being open a few months, Hot Cups closed last year. In years past, it was a barbecue sandwich walkup restaurant, owners said.

Big Mouthz owners Steve Stegner and Chris Haber will offer items such as pulled pork, barbecue brisket, hand-breaded chicken strips, handmade fries, ribs and turkey breast sandwiches. Stegner also makes his own sauces and cole slaw.

“We were open five, six months,” Stegner said of the previous location. “It just wasn’t really working out. And we wanted to be more where we would be more noticeable. I really like the location for what we are trying to do. It think it will be a good fit for us. We will have a drive-through on the back side and a driveup on the front side. And in nice weather, we will have some picnic tables, outside dining with umbrellas.”

He expects to open some time in March. Initial hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Hours may extend to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. in warmer weather, Stegner said.

The phone is not connected yet, but when it opens, the number will be 563-323-2279.
