After being in business less than 18 months in Davenport and less than a month after opening a second Quad-City restaurant, Peter Harman, aka the Food Guru, has shut down Graze, Food Guru Experience.

"It is with great regret that we are announcing the closing of Graze Davenport located on Utica Ridge Road," company officials said Thursday in a news release. "As of Aug. 2, Graze Davenport is no longer open for business. Your support has been greatly appreciated over the last 16 months. All 007 Club memberships and Graze gift cards will be accepted at our Iowa City and West Des Moines Graze locations."

Harman opened Graze in February 2008 in the former Crave restaurant site at 5250 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport.

Graze featured an appetizer-focused menu and a wide selection of martinis.

It was Harman's first venture in the Quad-Cities. He already owned restaurants in Iowa City, Burlington, Iowa and Macomb, Ill. He also opened a third Graze restaurant in 2008 in West Des Moines.

On July 6, he reopened the Captain's Table on River Drive in Moline, which had been closed for about five months.

According to the release, Graze gift cards also can be presented at Captain's Table for a 10 percent food discount.
