Von Maur has apologized to its customers and taken corrective action after an error caused the company to mistakenly report some of its customers' accounts as delinquent.

The Davenport-based department store chain said select accounts were incorrectly reported to TransUnion as part of its standard monthly report in October.

In a statement, Von Maur said the error was discovered Oct. 28 and a corrected file was retransmitted Monday.

As of Thursday, all the affected accounts were corrected and the original error was completely removed, the company said.

“We take full responsibility for the severity of this issue and apologize for failing to meet the high-level of service our valued customers expect from Von Maur,” the statement said.
