"Federal preemption arguments have been raised across the country in response to state regulation addressing blocked public crossings. To date, such arguments have failed with respect to Iowa Code section 327G.32 (see Borwick v. Chi., Cent. & Pac. R.R. Co., 2007 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 103322 (SD Iowa 2007)). Therefore, Iowa Code section 327G.32 remains the law of the land in Iowa."
