1. Get festive 

Looking to taste a bundle of homemade brews? The Rivers Edge Homebrew Festiv-Ale, offering a variety of 50 home-brewed samples, is your shot. Billed as Rock Island's first homebrew festival, the event is slated from 2-6 p.m. Saturday outside the Rock Island Brewing Company, or RIBCO, at 1815 2nd Ave., Rock Island. 2. Fun, fun, fun

The Beach Boys are back. The group, who last appeared in the area at the iWireless Center in 2015, is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adler Theatre, 136 E. 3rd St., Davenport. With 50 years of hits to choose from, expect to hear upbeat songs such as "Surfin' U.S.A.," "God Only Knows" and

3. Ready for the Bix?

Join the Bix at Six fun this Thursday, which marks the final scheduled training run of the season as well as the last chance to qualify for the Brady Street Sprints. The run starts at 6 p.m. Thursday on the north side of the Quad-City Times building, at the intersection of 4th and LeClaire streets. Like previous training runs, the route follows Pershing Avenue because of ongoing construction on Brady Street. Qualifying for the Brady Street Sprints starts at 7 p.m. on Pershing Avenue. 4. Hey, good lookin'

If classic country is up your alley, check out this tribute to Hank Williams, the voice behind honky-tonk tunes such as "Hey, Good Lookin'" and "Cold, Cold Heart." Musician and actor Jason Petty, who last performed at Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse in 2002, has performed at top country music venues such as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. He returns to town this weekend with a cabaret-style show at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Circa '21, 1828 3rd Ave., Rock Island. Advance tickets cost $20 and are available by calling 309-786-7733. Tickets cost $25 on the day of the show. 

5. 'Dixie Swim Club'

Dive into "The Dixie Swim Club," the latest production presented by Playcrafters Barn Theatre. It opens Friday at the barn, 4950 35th Ave., Moline, and runs through July 23. See it at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Playcrafters' season also features performances of "Good People - Barn Owl Series," on July 28-30, "And Then There Were None" in September and "Miracle on 34th Street" in November. 6. One day of one-act plays

The Davenport Junior Theatre presents its One Act Play Festival this weekend. See three one-act plays, each running about 20-25 minutes, including "Marvello: The Magnificent Magician," "The King's Creampuffs" and "The Way Out Cinderella" at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Davenport Junior Theatre, 2822 Eastern Ave., Davenport.
