Bucktown Center for the Arts in Davenport will celebrate its 10th anniversary tonight.

Bucktown Center for the Arts, 225 E. 2nd St., Davenport, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with activities from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Awards for the juried exhibition, titled "Hot Art in the Summertime," will be announced at 6:15 p.m. on the building's second floor.

Artists from Quincy, Ill., to Iowa City will be exhibiting work with a "hot" theme. They will be on display through Aug. 1.

The second-floor MidCoast Gallery will feature murals from the 25th Artworks Expo High School pastel competition. Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m.

A street concert by Wicked Liz & the Bellyswirls will take place outside Bucktown along with a performance by students from the Q-C Rock Academy. Throughout the night, there will be food vendors from the Farmers Market outside as well.

The suggested admission is $5.

Bucktown, originally built in 1910, was opened by MidCoast Fine Arts in 2005, including art galleries and studios on lower floors, as well as condominiums and meeting spaces on the upper floors.
