Show to see - The jazz group Equilateral from Cedar Falls, Iowa, will bring its smooth sounds to the Redstone Room stage on Friday, Nov. 6.

The four-piece band has played at the Montreux Jazz and Ozone festivals, both in Switzerland, and the Iowa City Jazz Festival.

She said what? - Samantha Wikstrom, the supervisor of youth services for the Davenport Public Library, on using Post-it note kisses instead of real ones for the Pin a Kiss on Edward game during a "New Moon" movie release party:

"Obviously they won't really be kissing him. That would be sort of a germ nightmare. We don't want to encourage that."

For teens - The Quad-City teen band FireSale will bring its reggae sound to Mojo's Cafe for its regular appearance on the first Friday of each month.

The Central High School students have been together for two years with a long list of original songs.

The free show begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, inside the River Music Experience, 129 N. Main St., Davenport.

For the family - The Quad-City Animal Welfare Center and the Davenport Public Library have teamed up for Waggin' Tales. Parents and children can come to the library in pajamas for storytime and see animals from the shelter.

The free event will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Fairmount Street branch, 3000 N. Fairmount.
