As mentioned in previous blogs, I scare easily. So my one trip to Terror at Skellington Manor will satisfy my haunted house quota for the year.

But for those of you who have more cajones than I, there are at least nine haunted houses, forests, hayrack rides and mazes in the Quad-City area this weekend. I know there are some people out there who consider Halloween their favorite holiday of the year and truly enjoy having spooky figures jump out of nowhere.

So to all of you who can't get enough of the creepy-crawly parts of the holiday, which haunted event in the Quad-Cities have you enjoyed the most so far this year and why?

And for those of you who haven't checked out this year's haunted happenings, click here to see a list of Halloween events. In addition to haunted houses, it includes a few family-friendly holiday events.

One part of Halloween I do enjoy is getting dressed up. I usually come up with my own costume from items I already have in my closet and thrift store finds. Last year, my husband, who also works at the Quad-City Times, and I went to a party as Jim and Pam from "The Office."

I haven't decided what to dress up as this year, but I have to get it figured out before Saturday to be in time for the Quadsville Tweetup. This month, we're going to see "The Rocky Horror Show" at the Harrison Hilltop Theatre in Davenport. Costumes are encouraged, although not required, but I'm definitely going to pull something together. We're going to the 7:30 p.m. show Saturday, Oct. 17. You all are welcome to join us.
