1. Pop-up brunch

Me & Billy isn't usually open on Sundays or for breakfast, but the downtown Davenport establishment is going against the norm to host a pop-up brunch later this month. The restaurant will offer a special food and drink menu starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 21 at Me & Billy, 200 W. 3rd St., Davenport. For more information, visit meandbilly.com

2. Vegan cooking class

Whether you're a dedicated vegan or not, you'll be sure to learn something during this "Easy Vegan Cooking Class," which is hosted by Greatest Grains. Learn how to make a creamy coconut lentil curry, easy vegan shoyu ramen, black bean tostadas with avocado salad, as well as strawberry parfaits with sweet cashew cream. The class is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at Greatest Grains, 1600 N. Harrison St., Davenport. Tickets, $15, are available at greatestgrains.com. 

3. Farm to Fork Friday

Quad-Cities Food Hub has a busy month planned, including its new "Farm to Fork Friday" series, in which the business is offering a different type of dinner, from Mediterranean to Thai, featuring locally sourced food each Friday of the month at 421 W. River Drive, Davenport. In addition, the food hub is hosting a Paleo cooking class at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 and an herb garden cooking class at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May  24. 4. Wine festival 

A part of its annual wine festival, St. Ambrose University is hosting a wine tasting from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, May 20 on campus between Ambrose Hall and McMullen Hall. During the outdoor event, an assortment of 150 wines from around the world, plus food from Quad-City restaurants, will be available. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Proceeds go toward student scholarships. For more information, visit sau.edu. 

5. Great River dual tapping 

Great River Brewery's monthly tapping promises twice the fun this round. The brewery will tap two summery drinks including the Strawberry Blonde and the Chicawawa, a lemonade-inspired beer. The tapping, along with live music, starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at 332 E. 2nd St., Davenport.

6. Mother's Day brunch 

Celebrate mom with a special Mother's Day brunch from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at Brew, 1104 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. The meal features mimosas, an omelette bar and a buffet, including eggs, bacon, crepes and biscuits and gravy. The buffet costs $14.99 per person and bottomless mimosas cost $7.99 per person. 7. Craft Beer Festival 

At the Quad-Cities Craft Beer Fest, you can sample brews from 18 places such as Backpocket Brewing Company, based in Coralville, Iowa, and Tangled Roots Brewing Company, which is based in Ottawa, Iowa. The fest is slated to take over Bass Street Plaza on 17th Street in Moline from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 20. Tickets, $20 in advance, are available at quadcitieschamber.com.
