Beaux Arts Fair

The Beaux Arts Fair returns this weekend to the Bechtel Plaza of the Figge Art Museum in Davenport.

1. Beaux Arts Fair

Head to the Figge Art Museum this weekend and you'll have even more art to peruse than usual. The fall edition of the free Beaux Arts Fair is on tap from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday outside the Figge Art Museum. Admission to the Figge Art Museum is also free on Saturday and Sunday. 

2. Our Big Fat Greek Festival 

Get a real-life glimpse of the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," this weekend. Our Big Fat Greek Festival, which features Greek cuisine, culture, music and other festivities, returns for its 13th year from 3-11 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday at 2930 31st Ave., Rock Island. Don't forget, the drive-thru will be open from noon-8 p.m. both days. Admission is $2. 

3. Twista at RIBCO 

Kick off your weekend early with a hip-hop concert featuring Chicago-based rapper Twista, who has been performing since 1991 and has collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, Jay Z and Missy Elliott. Twista is slated to perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rock Island Brewing Company, or RIBCO, 1815 2nd Ave., Rock Island. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 8 p.m. Advance tickets, $20, are available at ribco.com. In addition, VIP tickets are available for $40. 

4. Thursday night groove

The Rock Island Parks and Recreation continues its Thursday Night Groove series this week with free outdoor concerts scheduled through Oct. 5 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, 101 17th St., Rock Island. This week's edition features Happy Joe's pizza, Bent River Brewing Company's craft beer, dance lessons and music from Jason Carl and the Whole Damn Band. Festivities start at 6 p.m. Thursday.

5. Good Makers Market 

The Good Makers Market, an indie craft market that started last year, returns this weekend with a new location: The Cedar County Fairgrounds, 1195 210th St., Tipton, Iowa. Check out a variety of arts and craft vendors, plus live music and food trucks, from 3-7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission costs $5. 

6. Triple Crown Comedy

Comedy night at the Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel has moved from its regular Thursday night to Friday this week. See comedians such as Andrew King, Anthony Natarelli, Donny Townsend and Nick Butler at 10 p.m. Friday at the Raccoon Motel, 304 E. 3rd St., Davenport.
