In Deadstock's 2008 debut, the gimmick for those attending the MidCoast Fine Arts fundraiser was to dress as a deceased rock star.
But the dead take to the streets this year.
"This year, the main thing is the Zombie Pride Parade leading up to the event," Deadstock organizer Carolyn Krueger said. "It's the first one ever, and there will be a lot of zombies at Deadstock."
There also will be two locally made, zombie-themed movies: "Project Z.E.A.L.," or "Zombies Experiencing a Life," by Tim Miller and featuring performers from ComedySportz Quad-Cities, plus a documentary on the zombie parade by Alexander Iaccarino.
"I don't know what it is, but zombies are hot," Krueger said.
Like last year, participants are asked to dress like dead musicians in addition to the zombies. The two winners from those categories will compete in a best costume contest. Music will be by the groups Ragaman and Good Company, each playing music by deceased artists who performed at the original Woodstock festival in 1969.
