CHIP SHOTS: The Spartans are at state for the 14th time in school history and are riding an 11-game win streak.The Spartans are looking to avenge a double overtime loss to the Go-Hawks in last year's state semifinals. Kurth's 29 goals and Addie Royer's 24 assists both lead the 2A field. The last time the Spartans made the finals was 2005 ... The Go-Hawks are making their 10th trip to state after finishing second last season. The Go-Hawks return eight starters from last season's team, including all-tournament selection Grawe.

CHIP SHOTS: This is Dowling's fifth straight trip to the state tournament and 10th overall. The Maroons return 10 starters from last year's semfinal team, Dowling has won 13 consecutive matches, including winning its bracket in the Tournament of Champions in Burlington. Bravard's 25 goals and Kelly's 15 assists lead the 3A field ... Bettendorf is looking to reverse its fortunes from last season, when the Bulldogs earned the top seed and were upset in the quarterfinals. Hope Christensen has signed to play with Eastern Illinois while Megan Cowherd will play at Wartburg. Bettendorf is making its 12th trip to the state tournament, winning its only state title in 1998, the first year of the tournament.
