Air Force Airman Mikel J. Columbus, son of Mikel Columbus, Davenport, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2004 graduate of Davenport North High School.

Leadership development

Micah Borycz, son of Jeanette and Edward Borycz, Moline, graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. The 32 days of training provide comprehensive professional training and evaluation in all aspects of military life. Cadets in their junior and senior years of college must complete the course. He is a 2006 graduate of Moline High School and a student at Norwich University, Northfield, Vt.
