The American Cancer Society’s Discovery Shop, 2397 Cumberland Square, Bettendorf, will put on its annual “Flip Flops and Formal Wear — A Cruise Wear Event” on Thursday.

The upscale resale shop will debut its cruise wear collection for anyone planning a vacation, a cruise or tired of winter clothing. The shop welcomes donations of new or gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories, jewelry, collectibles and home items.

Donations are accepted any time the shop is open, and tax receipts are available. All clothing is cleaned and ironed before it is sold, with dry cleaning donated by Burke Dry Cleaners.

The Discovery Shop is and is owned and operated by volunteers with the American Cancer Society, with the proceeds going for cancer research, education, patient services and advocacy.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit www.Facebook.com/QCDiscoveryShop or follow the shop on Twitter at @QCDiscoveryShop.
