The 28th annual Christmas concert at First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, focused on peace, and included a fond good-bye to the artist-in-residence and organist, Ahreum Han Congdon.

Matthew Bishop, music director, said the theme of "Peace on Earth" has been presented by First Presbyterian the last several years, because of violence in the community.

The Dec. 16-17 Christmas program went over well, Bishop said, with one highlight being a special arrangement that first premiered at the church in 2012: "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day."

An 18-minute offering, "In Terra Pax," or "On Earth, peace," was performed, and nicely accepted by the audience, Bishop said.
