Anyone looking through the doors of the Great Hall of the Davenport RiverCenter on Friday saw something much different than the usual fare. Hundreds of people seeking dental help were patients of  100 volunteer dentists and additional volunteer assistants as the first-ever Mission of Mercy came to town. The free clinic, a team project of the Iowa Dental Association and Iowa Dental Foundation, was open to Illinois and Iowa residents living within a 60-mile radius of the Quad-Cities.

The free clinic continues from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
