John and Donna Dion raise corn and soybeans on a farm near Grandview, Iowa, along a gravel road their children always said was "in the boonies."
Donna loves fall because it is harvest time and "harvest is getting back what you have worked for all year."
In addition to crops, the Dions grow pumpkins and gourds, and Donna began putting up a fall display about 10 years ago at her daughter's urging.
Props include a wheelbarrow that John bought at a farm sale, a metal gate that was on the farm when they bought it and wooden boards that are the tops of wooden crates.
A shock of corn; store-bought, fall-themed characters, and mums round out the display.
