Talk looks at plants for problem areas

A free presentation on vines, groundcovers and grasses for any landscape will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Wallace's Garden Center on Devils Glen Road, Bettendorf.

Kate Terrell, of Wallace's will explain how often times the solution to a troublesome spot in the garden is a plant that creeps, crawls, climbs or sways.

Classes cover glass, Spanish, photography

Black Hawk College is offering the following community education classes:

• Stained glass, intermediate lead, 6-8 p.m., Wednesdays, March 14 to April 11. The cost is $65.

• Spanish, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 14-28. The cost is $45.

• How to take better photos, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 17. The cost is $59.

• Aromatherapy, using essential oils for relaxation and sleep, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20. The cost is $19.

• Lightroom for the digital photographer, 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 21. The cost is $39.

Seminar explains poultry raising

A seminar on raising poultry, including backyard chickens, turkeys or ducks will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Davenport.
