Talk about one-of-a-kind art. A company called DNA 11 - dna11.com - will make contemporary "portraits" out of your genetic material, or that of your kids, parents, spouse, dog.

Mini-portraits start at $169. The company can also create business cards with DNA art on the flipside. Their motto? "From Life Comes Art."

Created by Adrian Salamunovic and Nazim Ahmed (the design guy and the biotech guy), DNA 11 allows you to make art of, well, you. This is so high-tech that a DNA sampling kit is sent to you once you place your order. You basically take the supplied swab, do a swipe of the inside of your mouth along the cheek and send it back in.

Then, the scientists do their thing and before you know it - art!

The site goes out of its way to assure you the DNA sample is safe and secure in their hands and will be destroyed immediately. The Mini Portraits are the cheaper option to the full-blown portrait, which can cost you $390 for one person's DNA image. You can add a second person's DNA to create a side-by-side portrait ($650) or three stacked ($800) or four people at $1,200. And, yes, you can do your pet's DNA, too.

The business has expanded to add fingerprint portraints and "Kiss" portraits (a lipsticked-looking image that seals your inner artist).
