JC Penney will open at 2 p.m. Thanksgiving with online deals all day.

The start of “Black Friday” shopping is just days away as the stores have started moving their deals online even earlier. Hopefully by now you’ve had a chance to take a peek at the ads online as most of the ads have been posted. If not, you’ll want to start looking, because you could miss getting your deals online if you wait to get the physical copy of the ad in the Thanksgiving morning paper (but definitely still pick up the paper for the physical ad to take it to the store with you). Here are some of my favorite tips and deals for the week, but, of course, there are lots more awesome deals out there if you look for what you need.

1. Kohl’s

Kohl’s will begin Black Friday deals online on Monday, while their doorbusters will be available on Thursday. Check the ad carefully to see when the deal you want will be live online or shop in store at 5 p.m. The best part about Kohl’s is that starting Monday, you will get $15 Kohl’s Cash back for every $50 you spend, including on some of their more expensive doorbuster items like the PS4 for $199 or the Apple Watch for $199. There are also great deals on small kitchen appliances after rebates, including three air fryers of different sizes and prices, which I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this week. On top of all that, there should also be a 15 percent off coupon available for use.

2. Target

If you have a Redcard, Target is starting online sales to card holders on Wednesday. If you’re looking for in-store Doorbusters, Target opens 6 p.m. on Thursday, but will close at midnight and reopen at 6 a.m. Friday. If you can wait to shop until Friday, and plan to spend more than $50, you’ll get a coupon for 20 percent off a future purchase from Nov. 28 to Dec. 10, which is nice for picking up some gifts, or even doing some holiday party shopping. A couple hot deals include the Google Home Mini for $29, with a $10 Target gift card in return, and some great toy and game deals, including 50 percent off select games, making a good deal for a family game night.

3. Walmart

Walmart will also be increasing online sales starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, but if you can’t get what you want online, the deals in-store start at 6 p.m. Walmart continues to be reliable with some of my usual favorite deals, like bed sheets for $24, movies for $1.96 and up, and low-priced PJs for the whole family. But my favorite Walmart deal this year is the Instant Pot for $49. I love my Instant Pot. The Walmart deal is a bit smaller at five quarts than the six quart I have, but you really can’t beat that price for one that is still plenty big.

4. JC Penney

JC Penney has one of the earliest opening times on Thursday at 2 p.m. with online deals all day. If you can get there early enough, they are giving away coupons worth at least $10. My favorite deals at JCP always includes their awesome boot sale as low as $19.99. There are great deals on items for the home, like towels for $2.99 and small appliances as low as $4.99 after rebates, as well as nice prices on clothing and accessories.

4. CVS

If you aren’t a CVS shopper, this is the perfect time to begin accumulating ExtraBucks to roll. CVS sales begin on Sunday, but they’ll have additional deals on Thursday, including over 10 deals that are free after Extrabucks. Even if they aren’t items you want, consider purchasing them anyway and donating to a shelter or a school for those less fortunate. I always try to pick up things I won’t need for the students at my school who have basic necessities on their holiday wish list, plus some of the fun things, like the makeup kits.

5. Bath and Body Works

This is the only time of the year that Bath and Body Works allows coupons from different mailers to be stacked, so you can use multiple coupons in one transaction if you meet the requirements of the coupon. Use coupons on top of already great deals, including the exclusive tote with seven products, which is usually $25 with a $30 purchase. I stock up on hand soaps to last us several months, but this is a great time to pick up some gifts for people on your list.

Of course, this is really a very short list of the stores and deals that are out there, but these are my favorite stores to hit during the Black Friday frenzy. Also keep your eyes peeled for Amazon matching prices, as well as hints to Cyber Monday sales. Don’t forget to check all of the ads to find the good deals on the things you need, compare prices across stores, check for online sales times, and most importantly of all, have fun.
