Jok, Hill make Jerry West watch list

Iowa’s Peter Jok and Illinois’ Malcolm Hill are among 20 players named to the preseason watch list for the Jerry West Award, which is presented to the top shooting guard in Division I college basketball.

Jok averaged 16.1 points per game last season, becoming the first Hawkeye non-senior in 20 years to average 16 or more points per game. Hill averaged 18.1 points per game. Both players were named to the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Two other Big Ten players also made the Jerry West list as Indiana’s James Blackmon and Michigan State’s Eron Harris also were recognized.
