Animal center offers spays or neuters: The Quad-City Animal Welfare Center will offer $5 cat spays or neuters on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and Tuesday, Nov. 12, by appointment. Appointments may be made by calling the center at 309-787-6830, ext. 26 or 27.

The Quad-City Animal Welfare Center is the only full service no-kill animal shelter in the Quad Cities. Their mission is to provide a shelter for homeless animals, to offer a spay and a neuter program and to provide humane education. The adoption center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. A low-cost vaccination clinic is open from 1-3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon, no appointment necessary.
