Good Thursday morning, Quad-Cities. Just nine more days to the Quad-City Times Bix 7. Are you ready? You're waking up to a cool, but humid, 61 degrees under fair skies, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today after 1 p.m. Otherwise it will be partly cloudy with a high near 79 degrees. Looks like a chance to give your air conditioner a break.

Tonight there's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. with a low around 54 degrees. If the temperature does reach 54 degrees, it will tie for the record low for July 16 set in 1945. You may even have to fire up the furnance. Talk about your wacky weather!
