The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Wapsipinicon River near DeWitt, Iowa, in Clinton County and Scott County until further notice.

Early today, the Wapsi was at 9.8 feet and holding steady. Flood stage is 11 feet. No flooding is presently occurring, but the river is showing signs of rising again after leveling off for a time Monday. The river is forecasted to rise above flood stage tonight and continue rising to 12.1 feet by Friday night.

The warning states the forecast is highly dependent on additional rainfall and upstream snow melt.

At 12 feet, water will affect residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus and businesses along the river near Calamus.
