Iowa’s Water and Land Legacy Coalition will visit Davenport on Monday to speak about a statewide ballot issue to create an environmental trust fund.

Members will speak at 10 a.m. at the Scott County Family Y, 606 W. 2nd St., Davenport.

The coalition supports passage of Iowa’s Water and Land Legacy on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Speakers will be Sean McMahon, The Nature Conservancy; Matt O’Connor, Pheasants Forever; Anita O’Gara, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation; Zach Klipsch, YMCA Camp Abe Lincoln; and Kathy Wine,  River Action Inc.

The constitutional amendment on the ballot would create a dedicated trust fund for the purposes of protecting and enhancing water quality and natural areas throughout the state, including parks, trails, and fish and wildlife habitat and conserving Iowa agricultural soils.
