CLINTON, Iowa - A Clinton man is facing felony charges after he allegedly entered the home of a Clinton couple Tuesday night swinging a baseball bat.

Police were called to the home of Jacques and Mindy Scott at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to court records.

Jacques Scott told police that he heard a knock at his door and when he answered it, a man they knew was standing there with an aluminum baseball bat, and began to swing it at the door and at Scott, according to court records.

The man forced his way through the door, hitting Scott on the wrist with the bat as Scott used his arm to block a blow aimed at his head. The man also swung the bat at Mindy Scott, but did not hit her, according to court records.

Scott was able to force the man back out the door, but the man told Scott he would kill him and his family, according to court records.

The Scotts told police they knew the man but hadn't spoken to him in six months, and had no idea why he would have come to their home, according to court records.

Antoine J. Robinson, 25, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony, and going armed with intent, a Class D felony. He was being held Wednesday in the Clinton County Jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 13.
