A new outdoor sign at Union Station Visitor Center, Davenport, will complete the building’s $450,000 interior and exterior renovation project.

The sign will be dedicated at 2 p.m. today at the center at 102 S. Harrison St. The center also invites the public to see the renovations and enjoy refreshments Saturday during the Festival of Trees parade, which begins at 11 a.m.

Union Station Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The project was funded by Davenport Levee Improvement Commission, city of Davenport and Riverboat Development Authority. The architect for both the interior and the planned exterior renovations was John Gere of Scholtz, Gowey, Gere and Marolf Architects & Interior Designers, Rock Island.

Jeff Guthrie of Midwest Graphics Management, East Moline was responsible for interior displays and banners. Custom-built panels and customer service center were created by Vince Avila and Bruce Kahler, Swensen Construction Inc., Blue Grass, Iowa. Learn more at www.visitquadcities.com.
