Countryside Community Theatre will audition performers for roles in its summer musical, “Les Miserables,” next weekend.

Auditions will be from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 12-13, with callbacks from 4-5 p.m. each day at the North Scott High School theater, Eldridge.

Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a musical theater song. Bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. A capella singing and the use of recorded accompaniment are not allowed. Those auditioning may sing something from the score, preferably a song for the character sought. However, it is not required to sing from the score.

To schedule a time, email Spaces are filling quickly. Walk-ins will be accepted and will be placed in the next available audition slot. Please bring a resume, if you have one, to the audition as well as a recent photo of yourself.

There are 29 named characters in the production and several choruses. Performances will take place over three weeks in July.
