The Bettendorf Library has started a new book discussion group called Get Lit, geared toward adventurous readers who would like to read something different than normal book club fare. Selections will include a variety of genres, including fiction, biography, science fiction and horror.

Get Lit will meet at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month from January to May at Old Chicago in Bettendorf. Books for the Jan. 9 discussion are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Bettendorf Library Information Desk. Copies are also available for check out from area libraries, and some are available as a free downloadable ebook through the Bettendorf Public Library.
