Modern Americana music the focus of library talk

Bethann Heidgerken will present “Modern Americana," as part of Trax from the Stax at Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16. Heidgerken, a singer-songwriter, has been influenced by this genre, which incorporates country, folk, and blues. Artists such as Gillian Welch, Allison Kraus, and The Punch Brothers will be explored, and Heidgerken will perform on guitar and ukulele.

Trax from the Stax is a music listening program, that offers curators presenting the work of a particular composer, genre, artist or style.

Free sexual harassment presentation at the library Nov. 27

Kathleen Richlen, Human Resources director for the City of Bettendorf will lead a free presentation on sexual harassment from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Dr. Richlen will discuss how to identify and report sexual harassment, and ways a person can avoid harassing others. Those new to the workforce are encouraged to attend.
