Bettendorf Public Library presents local musician Feb. 15

The Bettendorf Public Library will host its Trax from the Stax program at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Local musician Lojo Russo will share her experiences as a multi-genre artist. The program also will feature a live performance followed by a question-and-answer session.

The event is free and open to the public.

Trax from the Stax is funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library. The monthly music listening program features a variety of music and artists.

Bettendorf Public Library to host discussion

on women’s magazines, Feb. 27

The World Affairs Council of the Quad-Cities and the Bettendorf Public Library are hosting Between the Covers: Shaping Feminism in Bangladesh and India at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive.

Speaker Dr. Umme Al-Wazedi, associate professor of English, and women’s and gender studies at Augustana College, will discuss the function of women’s magazines in Bangladesh and India.

The event is free and open to the public.

The World Affairs Council of the Quad-Cities is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to foster global education and international understanding within the Quad-Cities and beyond.

IONS-QC will meet March 8

The Institute of Noetic Sciences Quad-Cities Community Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Bettendorf Public Library.

C.J. and Lori Monzyk will present “Experiences at an Indian Ashram.” The next book club meeting also will be announced. The book is "Entangled Minds" by Dr. Dean Radin, chief scientist at IONS.

The program is free and open to the public.
