Bettendorf plans clean-up projects

The Bettendorf Parks Department is seeking volunteers for upcoming park clean-up days. The following projects will include cleaning out invasive plants and garbage, pruning, planting, staking and mulching trees:

  • 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, Edgewood Park, 1400 23rd St.
  • 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 11, Edgewood and Lincoln parks

Tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring work gloves.

PVHS to produce 'The Drowsy Chaperone'

Pleasant Valley High School Drama Department will present the musical, "The Drowsy Chaperone," Nov. 2-5.

The show is a parody of the musicals of the 1920s Jazz Age.

Performances will be held Nov. 2 and 4 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10; $7 for students and senior citizens. Drama Boosters will sell desserts at intermission on Nov. 4.

An open dress rehearsal for senior citizens is free and begins at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the PVHS Theater. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Parking is available at First Baptist Church, 3593 Middle Road. A shuttle will start running at 12:45 p.m. to take guests to the school, and will return guests to the parking lot after the performance. Assistance will be provided to guests getting on and off of the shuttle.

Watch as rising performer Janet VanDegraff sings and dances her way through her dicey wedding day! Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Drama Club boosters will be selling desserts at intermission for the Saturday night performance!
