Local musicians are invited to join one of the Black Hawk College community music ensembles. Classes begin the week of Jan. 14. Auditions are not required. The ensembles include high school students, college students, faculty members, retirees and other community members who enjoy performing music from a variety of periods and styles.

Rehearsals will be at the Quad-Cities Campus, 6600 34th Ave., Moline.

The Community Band will rehearse from 6:30-8:20 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 15 to May 14.

The Community Chorale will rehearse from 6:30-8:20 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17 to May 16.

The Community Jazz Band will rehearse from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 16 to May 16.

The Community String Orchestra will rehearse from 6:30-8:20 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 14 to May 13.

The Youth Orchestra (grades 5-12) will rehearse from 4:30-6 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 14 to April 29.

Cost is $20 per course, except the Youth Orchestra which is $60.
