Community members, along with the Illinois National Guard Counter Drug Support Team, have kicked off the Coalition Advocating for Underage Substance Elimination, or CAUSE.

The mission of the coalition is to bring community leaders together to promote awareness of the negative effects of alcohol use among teens through prevention education and adventure-based activities while targeting the reduction of underage drinking.

A kickoff event last week provided information and current data and shared the mission of the initiative to seek community involvement for reducing underage drinking among teens and to increase prevention education. For more information, contact Tammy Muerhoff, regional superintendent of schools, at 309-736-1111.
