Even though temperatures reached 37 degrees Sunday in the Quad-Cities, families enjoyed frozen art and skating opportunities in the first Icestravaganza at the courtyard near in the Skybridge and the River Music Experience in downtown Davenport between Brady and Main streets. The free event included horse-drawn carriages, live music, a “Diamond in the Ice” competition, children’s stories and art stations as well as shopping with items from Handmade City and downtown Davenport vendors showcased in the Skybridge.

The event was rescheduled after inclement weather on its original Feb. 17 date. Icestravaganza was presented by the Downtown Davenport Arts and Culture committee, and was made possible through the support of sponsors: Necker’s Jewelers, Genesis Health System, Fox 18, B100, Master CJ, Iowa American Water, One-Step and the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation Department.
