Christian Care has received two grants to help feed the homeless and hungry.

The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation Board of Trustees has awarded a $10,000 grant to the agency, and The TJX Companies gave a $5,000 foundation grant.

Executive Director Elaine Winter said the grants will help provide food, shelter and services for hundreds of men, women and children, as well as counseling, case management, advocacy and spiritual guidance.

Christian Care, based in Rock Island, operates a domestic violence shelter for women and children and a rescue mission for homeless men. Its community meal site is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays Monday through Friday, and for breakfast and dinner Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast is served at 6:30 a.m., lunch at 12:15 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Christian Care’s crisis hotline is 309-788-2273 or visit online at christiancareqc.org.
