A 92-year-old silent German horror film will be accompanied by live, modern jazz tonight at Rozz-Tox, 2108 3rd Ave., Rock Island.

“The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,” considered one of the best horror films of the silent movie era, will be shown at 9 p.m. Thursday. Admission is free.

Accompanying the film will be the Brett Walberg Trio, lead by Walberg, a saxophone and clarinet player based in Massachusetts.

Film critic and historian Leonard Maltin called “Caligari” a “somewhat stiff but still fascinating German expressionist film about ‘magician’ Caligari and a hypnotic victim who carries out his evil bidding.”
