Alcohol is believed to be a factor and criminal charges are pending in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday in Davenport that sent both drivers to the hospital, police said.
Kathy J. Scott, 53, of Milan drove a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am eastbound in the 1300 block of West 2nd Street when she crossed the center line and struck head-on an oncoming 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Robert A. Berhenke, 52, of Moline, Davenport Police Capt. Paul Sikorski said.
Scott was speeding just before the crash at 3:41 a.m., Sikorski said.
Both drivers had to be extricated from the vehicles by mechanical means, Sikorski said.
