Public works crews have been out throughout the morning dealing with an icy glaze that has formed on streets and sidewalks.

The City of Davenport says crews have been out for several hours pre-treating hills and routes and are prepared to respond to weather conditions throughout the day.

Churches United is reporting on its website that the Pastors on Parade event scheduled for 2 p.m. has been canceled due to the weather. The downtown Davenport Ice Stravaganza originally scheduled for today also has been canceled.

The National Weather Service is calling for freezing rain to change to rain around 3 p.m. A high temperature of 35 is expected. Total daytime ice accumulation of around a 0.1 of an inch is  possible.

Ironic that the Ice Stravaganza was cancelled because of ice.

Thank you to the City crews for all you do!
