An argument outside a Davenport tavern escalated into a fight in which a man was stabbed in the neck.
Police said the stabbing occurred at 9:59 p.m. Friday outside the Do-Dah Tap, 702 W. 3rd St.
Nurldon Green Jr., 46, of 3831 N. Bridge Ave., Davenport, is charged with one count of willful injury with serious injury. The charge is a Class C felony under Iowa law and carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
Green got into a verbal altercation with another man outside the Do-Dah Tap, according to an arrest affidavit filed by Davenport Police Detective Errol Walker.
Green pulled out a knife from his front right pants pocket and cut the victim on the right side of the neck, police said.
According to Walker's affidavit, the injury was so severe that the victim was rushed into surgery at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

The victim's name and condition were not available late Saturday.
Green was being held Saturday night in the Scott County Jail on $5,000 bond.
